Emily Bronte and the Haworth Dialect – 2nd edition

Author and scholar Malcolm Petyt has released a 2nd Edition of his popular book discussing the dialect used by Emily Bronte in Wuthering Heights. Bronte’s character Joseph is given a strong Yorkshire dialect, which it has been supposed, was accurately reproduced, within the capabilities of the 26 character alphabet available. This book looks at the use of dialect and gives the reader the means to reproduce the sound of the period speech.
